Natural Herbal Hair Color Kits - All Natural Hair Color Products

Enjoy healthy, glossy hair colored to a fresh and lively shade using LOGONA Herbal Hair Colors. Whether you want only to add depth or a subtle nuance to your existing color, or to change your hair color altogether, LOGONA Herbal Hair Colors can do the job. And do it without attacking the natural structure or native color of your hair!

Chemical hair colors aggressively remove natural pigments from the interior of the hair shaft, and replace them with synthetic dyes. In this way, your initial hair color can be completely changed. However, since natural hair pigments have a stabilizing effect on overall hair structure, repeated chemical color treatments can make hair fragile and lifeless.

LOGONA Herbal Hair Colors penetrate only into the outer, scaly layer of the hair shaft, giving a coating of color over this outer layer. The natural pigments of your hair shine through this color layer. Your new hair color results from the combination of your initial color with the applied hair color layer.

The botanical ingredients strengthen the hair and give it naturally enhanced volume. The extra shine results from the smoothing effect the hair color layer has on the outer layer of the hair shaft. This increases the light reflected off the hair, which produces the typical glossiness and shine of hair colored with a LOGONA Herbal Hair Color.

LOGONA Herbal Hair Colors contain only 100% natural coloring and conditioning ingredients. The colorants used include certified organically grown henna, cassia, walnut, buckthorn, indigo, hibiscus, rhubarb, rhatany, coffee, curcuma, and beetroot. We grind these ingredients to a very fine consistency, and then mix in powdered wheat protein and jojoba for added conditioning benefits. We also add a bit of algin to improve the texture of the color mixture, and some essential oils to improve the fragrance.

Logona Herbal Hair Colors do not contain FD&C colors, Alcohol, Ethanolamine, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Parfum, p-Phenylendiamine, Resorcinol, m-Aminophenol, p-Aminophenol, Hydroquinone, 4-Chlororesorcinol, 1.5 Naphtalenediol, 2-Amino-4-Hydroxyethylaminoanisole-Sulfate, 4-Amino-2-Hydroxytoluene, I-Naphtol, p-Methylaminophenol Sulfate, 2 Methylresorcinol, N-Phenyl p-Phenylenediamine Sulfate, Hydrogen Peroxide, diaminobenzene, resorcin or anything other than what is mentioned in the ingredient list.  This product is truly all natural.

A LOGONA Herbal Hair Color combines with your individual hair color and hair structure to produce an individual color result not completely predict-able. Fine or very light hair typically binds the hair color quicker and more intensively than thicker or darker hair. Consult with your hair stylist if you have questions about categorizing your hair structure and color.

How does this product differ from permanent hair dyes or semi-permanent hair dyes?  This product does not contain any chemical that can lift and deposit a color into the hair shaft.  Therefore it can not lighten hair.  Rather, it acts more like a hair stain, staining the outer hair shaft.  Since proteins in the hair differ from natural born hair color and gray hair strands, the process of staining the outer hair shaft can present a challenge for some.  This product is recommended for those who have more than just a few of gray hair.  LOGONA Herbal Hair Color designed a pre-color application that is called Color-Plus. By applying this first before applying the color, it will help the color to stain or adhere better to the hair shaft. It will also remove hair styling products and deep clean the scalp.  After processing this first step completely, washing and towel drying the hair, you may begin on this product.  Which ever shade you choose, you may leave on the hair for up to an hour or more, depending upon how much gray you have.  Shades with more red will most likely adhere to the gray hair better.

Results can differ upon coverage and how much red tone you will have.  Light Blonde shades and deep black or blue black shades do not seem possible however.

What if you have allergies to PPD hair dyes and aren't sure about using a henna? We can understand any caution you would consider. Allow us to re-assure you that using this brand of henna or other henna we offer here at Natural Solutions, is not the same.  LOGONA Herbal Hair Color is not a dye and contains only henna and natural plant extracts such as roots and barks.  This does not mean you may not have an allergy to henna or the other plant ingredients. So before applying, make sure you take a moment and due a skin test. For sure, reducing the amount of ingredients in your hair care will certain help you overall, and that is why LOGONA Herbal Hair Color should be a good product to consider replacing your current permanent or semi-permanent hair dyes.

What if you have never used henna before and are unsure about how long it will take, or what the process is for using it? We have included an information page on this product for you. You may click here to review it before purchasing the product.  We have also included a brief instruction on the instructions tab.

How does LOGONA Herbal Hair Color work?  They color your hair in a gentle, yet long-lasting way.  Unlike chemical methods, they do not penetrate the hair shaft, but coat the outside of each hair shaft with a protective, volumizing layer.  The color layer reflects light, making your hair shinier, and also smooths over the roughened exterior of the hair shaft, making your hair more manageable.  The results are expressive colors, glossy good looks, and increased volume.  Every detail is enclosed with each box of Herbal Hair Color.  This includes how to mix, how to prepare your hair before coloring, applying, process time, what to do after, and how to make your color last.  Each box contains: hair color powder, instructions, and protective gloves.  We recommend that you read our Natural Makeup Advice area and view the questions and how to's under Logona Henna Q&A.  Check below for the appropriate hair color for you!

APPLICATION TIME: Between 10 min for fine or light hair to one hour or more for thicker or darker hair. NOTICE: Because of high chlorophyll content, this product should not be used on very gray or very blonde hair, since these light hair shades could receive an unattractive green nuance. In general, if you have blonde hair, do not allow the treatment to stay on longer than 11-15 minutes in your hair.

SUGGESTION: Go get your hair trimmed and collect some of the trimmings to bring home. Use those to do your test strands. You can do a couple tests at a time.  The sample sizes are great for these tests.  One test could be on one color, while the other test could be that same color with heat applied to it. Which do you prefer in the end? Which covered better? You can also do other things too like two step coverages.

COLORS TO CHOOSE: Golden Blonde, Sahara, Henna Red, Flame Red, Mahogany, Walnut Red/Brown, Chestnut Brown, Natural Brown, Brown Umber, Henna Black, Henna Natural.

Many users achieve unique and beautiful color results by mixing two or three hair colors together. Especially in the red and brown color ranges all imaginable nuances are possible. Mixtures of golden blonde and Sahara produce many variations in the golden to reddish range.

Also common among many users is to mix a small amount of Henna Black into a base of Mahogany, Chestnut Brown, or Walnut Brown to darken the color result.

HOW TO USE SAMPLES: Sample sizes are enough to take a swatch of hair and check for color and coverage results before applying a full size box.  Instructions are supplied, but please know you will only need a few tablespoons of water with a 1/4oz sample. The product should look like cake batter, not stiff or runny when blended with the powder.  Apply product to a strip of hair, make sure it is covering grey hairs or area you want to test, and cover with plastic wrap. To check results when using heat, apply a moist hot rag over plastic wrap and keep area moist and hot for up to an hour.  Application time can be less however.  After application time if over, rinse your hair in warm water or use a gentle low sudsing shampoo.  Allow to dry.

IF YOU DO NOT GET THE RESULT YOU WANT: Sometimes you will not see a color change if it is the first time you've used henna depending on the color you choose.  Many who want to stay away from Reds who are covering grey hair have trouble.  Normally a second coat is seen better after application.  Customers who want coverage should consider mixing shades together such as 1 box of Natural Brown and 1/4oz of Black, or you could change the Natural Brown to Brown Umber or even Chestnut Brown.  Henna blends with more red in them tend to cover better.  Those with Blonde or lighter hair that use shades such as Henna Red, Mahogany, etc., will definitely have coverage in deep red brown hues.

HOW TO REMOVE HENNA: You may want to use the Color Plus to help strip color out of the hair if you do not like the desired look. You can also use mineral oil.  We suggest trying Samples first, not over heating the hair during application, or choosing colors that are not as dark or red toned.  It is easier to apply again with a deeper color than remove. Available Colors Include:

GOLDEN BLONDE
Colors light hair including gray, a strawberry blonde - will produce a reddish golden tone on light blonde to medium blonde hair. On mixed grey hair, it will be more like a highlight within the grey.

SAHARA
Sahara Blonde is more gold than golden Blonde and the longer you leave it on the more color will be added to your hair which is the case for all henna's. Sahara blonde is suitable for blonde hair to add some gold color and can be applied to grey hair for a golden blonde color.  If by chance you feel the color is a little brassy, just leave it and you will find with some shampooing the color will settle and look more natural in a short time.  Sometimes it is a good idea when you need to retouch the roots and leave the ends so as not to result in any brassy color.  Always do a test strand first as henna can be unreliable.

HENNA RED
100% Certified organic henna - will produce a medium red coloration on light blonde to medium blonde hair.

Henna red is suitable for most colors except for dark brown and white hair.  White hair will go orange. For up to 50% grey, henna red will give a red brown color.  For a darker color, apply henna red one day and black the next day. This is two separate applications and will give a red brown without any brassy color.  Remember you can have a more professional look and go for henna red foils at the hairdressers.  Henna Red as a base under Brown shades will result in better coverage over grey hair.

FLAME RED
Our brightest red, suitable for light blonde to brown - will produce a brilliant, fiery red on light blonde to medium to medium blonde hair. On brown hair, it will look like highlights of red within the natural color.

MAHOGANY
Deep rich red shade for medium blonde to brown - will produce an intensive, deep red tone on hair shades ranging from medium blonde to brown hair.  Mahogany color is less red than henna red and is suitable for brown hair and adds red to brown color. The difference between henna red and mahogany is that mahogany has more black added. On grey hair ( white hair ) it will be bright red. The lighter the color the brighter the result.  Always test a strand of hair first.  For a more natural color add mahogany foils instead of applying the color all over.  Alternatively use two foils say walnut red-brown and mahogany foils. You will need a hairdresser for this technique.

FEEDBACK: I've used this shade on my dark brown hair with 40% grey and it covered well.  It has deeper warm red/brown tones and behaved much like a permanent hair color.  The color lasted a long time for me.  My dark brown hair was predominant, but the gray hair had the rich red brown hues, making a pleasant look for me for a change.  One of our staff has a sister with blonde dyed hair, however her natural color is growing in a darker blonde shade.  She covered her hair over the dye and the color covered well.  It was a much brassier red shade than what happened to me having dark brown hair.  She loved it however.  The color did not stay on her hair as long as it had for me, and she had to recover more frequently than I.  She is now trying shades that match her natural hair growing in.

WALNUT RED/BROWN
Light brown shade with strong red highlights - will produce a warm, reddish brown tone on medium blonde to brown hair.

Walnut Red-Brown adds gold /copper color to very strong coarse hair and can add copper to fine and grey hair. If the hair is coarse the copper will be less dominant.. The roots do not take as well as the ends, somehow the color can bounce off the roots. Always shampoo the hair and exclude conditioner just prior to applying herbal hair colors. Walnut red brown is nice on light brown hair to add a shine and some gold /copper color however usually does not add a lot of copper. For variation of color apply walnut red brown on one section of hair and leave the next natural.  You could also do one strand walnut red brown and the next strand henna red. This would be quite bright on light brown hair.  The lighter the base the brighter the color.  Walnut-red brown is okay over bleached hair for a copper effect however test first.

CHESTNUT BROWN
Medium brown with strong red highlights - will produce a warm brown tone with moderate red on medium blonde to brown hair.

Chestnut Brown is suitable for most colors except dark brown hair. On 50% grey hair it will give a blonde effect however it will not lighten but adds gold and gives an illusion of lighter hair. Chestnut brown will add gold effects to light brown hair. For 80% to 100% grey hair apply chestnut brown to the roots of hair only for a more natural look. This will blend and will not be brassy as the grey hair on the ends will take any brassy effects away. The effect is light on for the first time of coloring. When retouching the roots leave the ends for a more natural look. All herbal hair colors are plant colors only and can be unreliable.  Test a strand of hair first.

FEEDBACK: I've seen customers with 100% grey hair use this product.  Their hair will look light blondish on the first application. Further applications I saw the auburn come out thru the hair creating a wonderfully soft look.  With more heat and moisture applied during application, it can go into an auburn/brown shade. Definitely with more use the product deepened.  As I've gotten more grey, I've started using Chestnut more instead of Brown Umber as the slight bit of red in it covers grey better.

NATURAL BROWN
Light brown shade with minimal red for med blonde to light brown hair - containing only minimal red, this product will produce a light, pure brown tone on medium blonde to light brown hair.  On mixed gray hair, it will look more like a light natural brown highlight within the gray hair.

Natural Brown can be used up to 100% on grey hair. For the light brown and blonde hair, natural brown will give a shine and add some brown color. For 50% to 60% grey will add brown color and cover the grays to a degree. The more application the better the coverage and the color will build up over time. For 80% grey, the color will be a blonde color.

FEEDBACK: I've had customers with grey and brown hair say they did not see a big difference with this shade.  Consecutive covers did reveal more of a blondish highlight over the grey, but they felt the Brown Umber worked better.

BROWN UMBER
Medium brown shade with minimal red for blonde to med brown hair - containing minimal red, this will produce a deep, warm brown on blonde to medium brown hair.  On mixed gray hair, it will look more like highlights of golden light brown within the gray.  It will not go dark on very grey hair. It works well on 50% grey hair and is a darker color than chestnut and natural brown. Testing a strand of hair is essential for accuracy of color.

FEEDBACK: I've used this shade myself. I have dark brown hair with about 40 percent grey.  At first when I was about 20 percent grey, I found it gave me better coverage.  My grey is stubborn. Eventually I ended up adding a half box of black to every full box of brown umber.  This worked well for me a long time. The grey did not go brown, but they looked golden - almost like a tea stain. I also added dark tea to my water I used.  I keep my hair moist and hot during the process by using a hot, wet towel over the cap, and then adding a dry towel over that.  I've used a dryer at times, but not all the time.  My process time was 1 hour.  I still would see grey however in harder to cover areas, but overall my hair was shiny, healthy and looked great.

HENNA BLACK
Medium brown shade with minimal red for blonde to med brown hair - containing minimal red, this will produce a deep, warm brown on blonde to medium brown hair.  On mixed gray hair, it will look more like highlights of golden light brown within the gray.  It will not go dark on very grey hair. It works well on 50% grey hair and is a darker color than chestnut and natural brown. Testing a strand of hair is essential for accuracy of color.

Darkens already dark hair shades. If you use this shade alone, you can get a green to blue cast on your hair. It would only be recommended if you wanted to darken the shade you wish to put on your hair, such as Brown Umber, Chestnut Brown, Walnut Red, etc.  You use up to a half box of black to a full box of a color shade depending up the length of your hair. Or you can go by rule of thumb using 10% black with other colors.   If you would purchase a sample, you'd buy 2 of a color to one of black.  I hope this helps you make your decision better. This Black Henna product does not cover gray. It only helps to enhance the other color you choose to apply to the hair. Do not use on bleached hair. For grey hair use henna red one day and apply black the next. This result will be red brown without any brassy color as the black tones the red down. Black on grey hair will go bluish. Black on natural hair, med brown ( no bleach) will go black.

Logona Herbal Hair Colors - golden blonde April 2, 2012
Reviewer: Anonymous Person
Very good to cover gray hair and soften a "chalky" appearance, without expecting wonders. Upside: the golden blonde hardly dyes darker blonde/light brown, not yet gray hair, so there will be no sharp "outgrowing" hair line. Downside: has to be used rather frequently on gray hair for a blonde effect, instead of something yellowish (black tea or a very small amount of "natural brown" may also help). Bottom line: more laid-back than perfectionist.

I've got white hair coming in! November 26, 2011
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from USA
I have blonde hair with white grey hairs coming in. I can't use hair dyes because I had a brain tumor and my doctor said not to use them anymore. So I tried the golden blonde kit. It looked burgundy when I put it in my hair at first, but after I processed it on my hair an hour, it washed out and left me with a warm blonde look. My gray white hair wasn't so white now. It looked lighter like highlights. Very satisfied. Next time I may try the Sahara to get a strawberry blonde look, but for now, a newbie at this, I like it.

LOVE IT!!Great product/fantastic customer service November 26, 2011
Reviewer: Carol D from Lonoke, AR United States
I have been using Logona for several years now, and I frequently receive compliments on my hair color. I was a natural redhead, but when it started to fade and turn gray, I refused to let it happen. This makes my hair look shiny and healthy, as well as giving it lots of body. It does a great job of covering the gray, and looks natural. I plan to continue using Logona Henna Red for years!!
