Our
Philosophy
 Maxim's
founders built the company and developed Maxim
products with
three main elements in mind? body, earth, and
health. How
can we take these very basic and essential
components of
life to their maximum level of efficiency and
sustainability? This question has become our
personal mantra
in everything we do. Each element alone is strong,
but by
combining them together in to one product we have
met our
maximum potential.
Body
Each person's body is unique in its composition and
form,
but every body wants and needs to feel good. Our
designs
play a significant role in providing comfort and
convenience
for life's every day personal care needs.
Earth
The Earth is our source of life and we've only got
one. If
we don't take care of it we might as well start
saying
goodbye to it. We like to try to breathe life in to
every
aspect of our product; from our eco-friendly
packaging, to
the use of biodegradable and toxin free materials we
are
always looking for ways to help keep our environment
safe.
Health
Health is the most influential element out of all
three
body, earth and health standards. Body and earth
alone
are strong components, however having a healthy body
and
earth is the strongest component in nurturing
quality of
life. As you read in detail about our standards on
the
following pages, you will see exactly how we keep
the earth
and body healthy. Our purple and blue lines of
product were
created to meet basic body, earth and health needs.
We've
improved these products further by introducing their
healthiest counterparts, the green and white lines,
which
function according to the standards of organic and
natural
living.
Our Standards
Organic Body, Earth and
Health
Standards
100% Certified Organic Cotton: Our cotton comes from
certified organic farms. Other conventional farms
use
pesticides and industrial farming methods to grow
and treat
their cotton; such methods have proven to be harmful
to the
body, earth and health. In fact, growing cotton uses
25% of
the world's pesticides, making it the crop that uses
the
most pesticides. Our farms do not use pesticides to
cultivate organic cotton; we use traditional safer
methods
like crop rotation, hand hoeing and the application
of
compost. Not only do these methods help keep your
body and
earth safe, but they are saving the lives of farmers
who
have been suffering from being exposed to dangerous
levels
of these toxins in maintaining the growth of our
favorite
crop. Organic farming also helps support the
livelihood of
local small scale farmers. Along with being grown
organically, our cotton is treated organically. We
use
hydrogen peroxide instead of chlorine to naturally
whiten
and disinfect the cotton raised on our farms in
order to
avoid exposure to harmful chemicals like dioxin
(read more
about dioxin below).
Natural Body, Earth and
Health
Standards
100% Natural Cotton: Natural cotton is not exposed
to as
many chemicals and toxins as conventional cotton
during the
cotton cultivation process, making it healthier for
the body
and environment. In particular and most important,
hydrogen
peroxide is used instead of chlorine to naturally
whiten and
disinfect the cotton used in natural products in
order to
avoid exposure to harmful chemicals like dioxin
(read more
about dioxin below).

Natural
Body, Earth and Health Standards

Dioxin and
chlorine free: Dioxins
are harmful chemical byproducts of the chlorine
cotton
bleaching process. We use hydrogen peroxide instead
of
chlorine to avoid harmful health concerns associated
with
exposure to dioxin. Chemical, plastics and perfume
free: Viscose/ rayon, fragrances, synthetic fibers,
and
other chemicals such as absorbent enhancers
typically used
in conventional products have been linked to
provoking
health related complications; these are not used in
our
products.

Hypoallergenic:
Allergy and irritation free for sensitive
skin types.
Some women are extra sensitive to the rayon and
other
chemicals found in conventional tampons. Our
products have
been tested by gynecologists and prove to be less
irritating.

Eco-friendly:
We make
sure everything about our products take in to
consideration
the health and safety of our earth in one or more of
the
following ways:

Biodegradable: Dissolves quickly, easily, safely,
and
naturally.

Recyled Packaging: Packaging is composed of either
recycled
or recyclable materials.

Cellulose fluff pulp free: Cellulose fluff pulp is a
natural
tree byproduct; its use in traditional sanitary
napkins and
diapers contributes to the over felling of our
natural
forests. We use natural cotton fluff as an
alternative to
help preserve our natural forests.

What Makes Maxim So
Different?....
Made With Pure Organic and Natural
Cotton.

Other Brands: What looks
like
cotton in other feminine hygiene
and
cotton puff products, is not
really 100%
cotton. It is usually a blend of
fluff
pulp, plastics and synthetics,
like
rayon/viscose. When synthetics
come in
contact with the body they can
create
unfavorable conditions leading to
allergy,
irritation and discomfort.
Maxim eliminates the use of
synthetics and instead only uses
cotton.
Unlike synthetics, cotton’s
natural and
breathable qualities help reduce
and
prevent the risk of irritation or
allergy.
Maxim also uses Organic
Cotton, the
purest form of cotton. Organic
cotton is
grown without the use of
Pesticides,
Fungicides, Herbicides, Sewage
Sludge,
Irradiation or Genetic
Engineering.
Instead of these toxic chemicals,
Organic
Farmers use natural alternative
methods
and tools to enhance soil quality
and
biodiversity and protect the air
and water
on which we depend.
What Makes Maxim So
Different?....
Chlorine/Dioxin Free.
Other Brands: use Chlorine
to
bleach the Fluff Pulp, Cotton,
Rayon or
other materials contained in
standard
feminine hygiene products. The
purpose of
bleaching is to disinfect these
materials
from germs and to whiten their
color.
Dioxin is a chemical substance or
residue
of Chlorine, which stays within
the fluffs
of Cotton, Fluff or Rayon. It is a
toxic
carcinogenic product that could
cause
serious health problems, depending
on the
level of exposure.
Maxim uses a safer bleaching
process using
Hydrogen-Peroxide to disinfect
product
materials.
What Makes Maxim So
Different?....
Synthetic Free.
Other Brands: Use Synthetics,
man
made chemically composed versions of
natural
materials like cotton. When
synthetics come
in contact with the body they can
create
unfavorable conditions leading to
allergy,
irritation and discomfort.
Maxim Organic and Natural products
are made
with Pure Cotton, leaving no trace
of
synthetics touching the body. Unlike
synthetics, cotton’s natural and
breathable
qualities reduce and help prevent
the risk
of irritation or allergy.
What

Other Brands: Use cellulose fluff pulp as the
absorbent filler in pads. Cellulose fluff pulp is a
tree
byproduct. Its production leads to the abuse,
over-felling
and destruction of natural forests.
Maxim
uses
100% natural cotton as our filler instead of
cellulose fluff
pulp because cotton is more waste efficient, easily
cultivated and its production has less of an overall
negative impact on the natural environment. This
feature
is unique to Maxim only.

Free.
Other Brands: Sometimes people are unaware
that the
irritation they are experiencing is caused by the
composition of the products they are using on a
daily basis.
The plastics, viscose, cellulose, perfume,
super-absorbent
and other petro-chemical fillers found in standard
feminine
hygiene products creates what’s called a
“heat-dampness
micro-climate,” which is an ideal environment for
encouraging the proliferation of bacteria, fungi and
other
irritation-causing subjects.
In addition, fragrances are used for sensual
pleasure, but
are the cause of irritation or allergic reaction for

people because of their chemical composition.
