ABOUT AUBREY ORGANICS

Why use something synthetic when something natural works so much better? That's the practical philosophy behind every Aubrey Organics® product. This simple idea has been the cornerstone of our pioneering company since the beginning. Read our labels. You’ll find only the finest herbals and plant extracts in their most natural form, and no synthetic additives or petrochemicals of any kind in any of our products. In 1994 our company became the first personal care manufacturer to be certified as an organic processor by Quality Assurance International of San Diego, California. This means that our factory—where we create our products—is regularly inspected and certified as a manufacturing facility where organic ingredients are handled according to standards set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Organic Program. We buy only the purest natural and organic ingredients from fair trade sources, and use them in handcrafted, all-natural products that are good for you and good for the Earth. It is this commitment that has made Aubrey Organics the finest hair, skin and body care products manufacturer and an industry leader with an impressive list of “firsts.”

When Aubrey Hampton first mixed ground ginger, peppermint and eucalyptus leaf into a base of coconut oil in 1967, he never imagined that the batch of bath liquid he created to help combat those harsh New York City winters would change the personal care industry forever. Forty years and more than 200 products later, Aubrey Organics®, the company he founded, remains the leader in natural hair, skin and body care, with products sold in more than 4500 retailers throughout the world.

Their mission is to provide all-natural, safe and effective personal care and lifestyle products to the consumer. They offer a true and authentic alternative to many of the mass produced synthetic products on the market today. They craft only the highest quality all-natural products without compromise as to ingredients, packaging or cost.

They believe in education and transparency. A customer is best able to make an educated and correct purchasing decision only when armed with true and valued information. Part of their core purpose is to provide that information as best as they can.

Aubrey Hampton was born on an organic farm in rural Indiana and was educated in New York City. He learned, from the age of nine, how to make herbal cosmetics from his mother. A phytochemist and herbalist, he founded Aubrey Organics® in 1967 with two natural products he formulated in his own kitchen.  Since then he has created over 200 hair, skin and body care products, which are internationally recognized as the most natural herbal products available.  Aubrey still personally creates every formula, and carefully oversees the manufacturing of each product that bears his name.  A dedicated animal rights activist, he is strongly committed to operating a cruelty-free company. This commitment led to his being named “Activist of the Year” in 1990 by the Culture and Animals Foundation.  He is the author of many best-selling health and beauty books, including Natural Organic Hair and Skin Care (now in its sixth printing), What’s in Your Cosmetics, and The Take Charge Beauty Book (co-authored with his wife, Susan Hussey).

Aubrey Organics is sulfite free.

Their Mission Statement:
Our mission
is to provide all-natural, safe and effective personal care and lifestyle products to the consumer. We offer a true and authentic alternative to many of the mass produced synthetic products on the market today. We craft only the highest quality all-natural products without compromise as to ingredients, packaging or cost.

We believe in education and transparency. A customer is best able to make an educated and correct purchasing decision only when armed with true and valued information. Part of our core purpose is to provide that information as best as we can.

What they Do:
At Aubrey Organics we believe great ingredients make great products. This is the simple philosophy at the heart of the pioneering personal care company Aubrey Hampton founded over 40 years ago. Since the very beginning, the high standards we set for ourselves have not changed. We use only the finest herbal, plant extracts and natural vitamins in all of our products. You will find no paraben preservatives, no petrochemicals, no artificial colors or fragrances of any kind. Today Aubrey Organics remains committed to making healthy, natural products based on herbal traditions that, in many cases, date back thousands of years. We believe that everything we know about hair and skin care we learned from nature first.

How They Do It:
Each and every product is personally formulated by Aubrey himself. All products are creatively designed to work in harmony with nature. This fine balance of performance and nature is truly an art… and a little science.

Next comes the sourcing of ingredients. We will accept only the highest quality and purest of ingredients from around the world. Each ingredient is tested to ensure it meets our high standards for purity and efficacy.

We then mix our products the old-fashioned way, by hand (as you might in your kitchen). Every product is handcrafted in small batches of 50 gallons or less for greater quality control. And there is always a watchful set of eyes during the manufacturing phase.

Our products never sit around on warehouse shelves — they are shipped straight from our manufacturing plant to you. This ensures freshness when they arrive at your door.

Remember, there is nothing to be found in an Aubrey Organics product that does not come from nature.

Their Commitment:
To the People: Our commitment to people is profound. We believe that we are truly citizens of the world and accept the responsibilities that accompany that. We work with farm communities, suppliers and businesses from around the world. It might be by sponsoring organic agriculture in Honduras, overseeing the development of herbs in Japan, or explaining the importance of organic farming techniques in Ghana.

At the same time we understand and believe that charity begins at home. We are greatly tied into our local community. It all starts with our employees. We believe in fair pay, safe working conditions, and use an ethical approach when handling all issues. All our employees are important, have a voice, and are listened to. The smallest of suggestions could lead to the largest discoveries.

We support many charities, whether it is an AIDS hostel in Vancouver, Canada, or a homeless shelter in downtown Tampa. We do not discriminate. We are actively engaged in and support the performing arts and encourage participation.

We believe the best accomplishment of a successful organization is to make the world a little better, cleaner and brighter for tomorrow’s people.

To the Earth: Our commitment to the Earth is not new. We have lived this commitment heart and soul for over 40 years now. It is nothing new to us, and certainly not a trend or a bandwagon we recently jumped on. It is, and has always been our way of life.

Our purpose is to leave the Earth in better shape than it is today. From the all-natural ingredients in our products, to the biodegradable, recyclable and recycled packaging we use, we are careful to a fault. Profit is never the overriding factor in our packaging or ingredient decision-making. We use sustainable, plant-based ingredients in all of our products. We never use petrochemicals or other non-sustainable ingredients. All our print materials are produced on recycled paper and are 100% recyclable. From start to finish, we understand the importance of the product life cycle. The final disposition of a product is as important as its inception. All of our formulations are biodegradable.

We wholeheartedly support sustainable, natural and/or organic farming techniques. We always source certified organic ingredients whenever possible without concern for cost.

We understand that future generations are counting on us to be stewards of the Earth. We need to provide for them a clean, safe and non-toxic world where all can live in health and happiness. One cannot exist without the other! We will do everything in our power to honor this commitment.

To Values: Aubrey Organics is a value-based organization. We believe that a company can conduct business in an ethical and enlightened manner and be successful, and we are determined to set an example. We believe that competition and fair play are at the heart of success. Corporate greed has no place in today’s business environment. We live by these rules everyday and encourage all to follow in the same footsteps.

Our values are our guide to:

  • Fair Trade
  • Fair Play
  • Fair treatment of employees
  • Fair treatment of partners

Samples are approximately 1/4oz packaged in a recyclable jar.  These are not produced by the manufacturer, but only through Natural Solutions.  The size and price were determined by the largest size container the manufacturer has available and evenly proportioned.  Every person's skin is unique, and as with all cosmetics we recommend that a person apply a small amount of the product to the inner wrist for 1-2 days before applying elsewhere to ensure comfort and compatibility.  We encourage everyone to read the ingredient labels carefully to avoid allergens.  Please read our policies under Customer Service Desk as not all items are returnable.
