ABOUT KETTLECARE
This cold hardy cosmetic garden is hidden in a
pristine Montana mountain valley and is at the heart of our organic
body care treasures.
Lynn
Wallingford, a slight but hardy outdoorswoman, has spent more than
two decades coaxing a productive home garden from the harsh winters and
alkaline soil
that define the landscape of her family farm in the Flathead Valley. Her
reason is
simple: “I’m just a gardener looking for a way to make a living through
my
garden.” Today, Kettle Care, her home-based business of therapeutic
body-care
products made from plants, is proof that she has figured out how to
bottle and sell
the organic life.
More
than 25
years ago, while homesteading
in Washington State, Wallingford discovered a natural remedy she needed
for eczema, an
ongoing skin condition. That
led her to the intense study of the growing and harvesting of medicinal
herbs suited
for cold climates, and
inspired her to bring the benefits of them to others. Since moving to
Montana,
Wallingford has been cultivating
plants and developing skin-care products, sold under the brand name
Kettle Care, based
on the herbs and flowers she
harvests on this certified-organic farm. “When plants can heal, nourish,
and
protect us,” says
Wallingford, “why use harsh chemicals on our bodies?” Though in person
she
is soft-spoken and shy, her
belief that “plants are our allies here on earth” never
waivers. Since 1983, I h ave been formulating body
care that is 100% natural and increasingly organic as the ingredients
are available, at affordable prices. I have developed these original
formulations to stay emulsified and naturally preserved, smooth and
creamy. Our commitment to you is to keep our ingredients pure and
gentle for your body by refusing to add chemicals that may harm you.
You may notice that the descriptions of our
products are not detailed. This is due to Kettle Care following FDA
regulations that prohibit us from describing the medicinal properties
of the organic herbs and cosmetic oils we use to nurture your body.
We strive to preserve our environment through
our Organic Gardening practices, and by reusing packaging donated by
Third Street Market Natural Foods in Whitefish. Our deliveries and
supplies are transported with our Honda FIT low emission, high mileage
vehicle. We recycle office paper, cardboard, plastic jugs and reuse
sterilized glass packaging. Our catalog is printed on recycled paper.
Our dedicated staff is delighted to welcome you to
explore our life’s work at Kettle Care.
