It is our priority to provide best quality

help reinforce the body with all its vital
functions and maintain a healthy balance of
the natural life processes of the human

The four pillars of social and
material-ecological quality together with
highest possible standards for our products

The Weleda name
The historical
Weleda was a greatly esteemed Germanic
healer and priestess. She lived in the 1st
c. AD at the upper reaches of the river
Lippe. The Roman historian Tacitus reports
that, amongst the Germanic tribes, she was
"long reverenced by many as a deity". The
name as such is derived from Celtic usage
where "Velleda" was attributed to wise women
with the meaning of seer and prophetess.
Rudolf Steiner suggested this name to
express the underlying medical impulse that
had led to the foundation of the company. |
