What you should know about SanoTint Hair Dyes
When speaking with company representatives, we wanted to gain more incite on how this product behaves. The LIGHT takes a little longer to cover gray, and is not as intense as the CLASSIC formula. For instance, if using the Natural Brown 73, black hair won't look black, but it will be more of a black brown. It will blend well with black hair.
Depending on the hue selected SANOTINT may also contain propylene glycol, EDTA, and Resorcinol. As always, SANOTINT tries to limit the concentrations of any of the chemicals that they do include in their products.
SANOTINT permanent coloring products do not lift color but deposit pigment. It will not help a dark haired brunette become a platinum blonde, and it just can't happen with such a mild hair dye such as SANOTINT wants this information to be
clear so there is no doubt on the part of the consumer.
SANOTINT does offer a hair lightening kit, which is peroxide based and will lift from one to three shades lighter.
Product Composition: Oil Extract of Golden Millet, with Pantothenate Calcium and Biotin, Vegetable Extracts (Olive, Birch, Grape seed). Possible use for 1-2 applications, according to hair length and thickness.
Common Product Questions
Can I lighten my hair with another shade if I have applied a shade that is darker than what I intended?
Unfortunately the only way to lighten a darker shade is to apply a lightener to the hair first, then reapply the shade that you would like that is lighter than the darker shade you first applied. So when making decisions on what shade to get, be sure that you consider how dark it may appear on your hair.
How can I avoid getting an orange hue to my hair? Many customers do not realize that if you first choose a shade that has red or yellow, when you reapply color to your hair next, you should take that undertone into consideration and choose a shade with a similar tone. For instance, if you go with the say 'Classic' number 14 (yellow base) and then the next time you color you apply 'Classic' number 30 (red base), you will not lighten the hair because the 14 is darker than 30, but you will change the tone of the hair because you added a red tone to the hair. Yellow + Red = orange. Some may like that look, but if that is not what you want, then you should be mindful when picking out your colors that you stay within the same color family if you are avoiding a specific tone. And remember the advice above regarding dark shades - as you can not lighten the shade by choosing a lighter color.
Instructions
In a cup, mix well in equal parts the contents of the dye and the fixing emulsion, using gloves all the time during the application.
Apply the mixture on dry hair that has not been washed, using a brush, and starting from the roots, divide the hair lock by lock. If it is the
first application distribute on all the hair using all of the mixture.
Keep it on from 20 to 30 minutes. If you have a lot of grey hair or very strong hair, leave it on for 30 to 35 minutes. If you want to do retouches on the roots, let it set for 20 minutes and then distribute the rest of the mixture on all the hair and leave it for another 10 minutes.
At the end of the setting time, rinse thoroughly until the water becomes clear. Carry on with the shampoo and wash with care.
Apply a moderate quantity of Sanotint restructuring conditioner, combing it into the hair. Do not rinse. Dry with a hairdryer and go ahead with the hairstyle.
Do not apply to eyebrows
SANOTINT HAIR CARE TIPS
Taking care of our personal appearance is more than simply applying a good quality hair dye, its giving life to our face by wearing a great big smile, with a good make up and a great attitude towards life.
How you can make the color last longer:
First wash your hair and then dry prior to applying the product. Gray
hair can take longer to absorb hair color. So, when coloring your hair,
apply dye to the gray areas first. It may take up to 45 minutes for
color to penetrate gray hairs; with careful timing, you can achieve even coloring throughout your hair.
Instructions for mixing the tint and the activator (fixative) should be followed as per the instructions. Mix well!
The hair’s ability to absorb the product is also dependent on how long the color lasts. You may want to consider leaving the dye on longer, giving the hair more opportunity to absorb the dye into the pours of the hair. Brush and comb your hair prior to applying the tint. You need to make sure your hair is tangle-free. If your hair is tangled, the color may apply unevenly. Remember, if you wash your hair frequently and with harsh shampoos and conditioners, the dye will begin to fade sooner.
The use of SANOTINT’s Colour Care Shampoo and Colour Care Conditioner,
helps the color’s intensity and richness last longer (please note that
this item is not gluten free and contains parabens - you may substitute
it with a natural shampoo and deep conditioner). For darker colors, increasing the applications duration from 20 to 30 minute to 35 to 45 minutes, will increase the colours intensity and richness, making the colour look darker and stronger.
Prepare Your Hair For coloring
Don’t cut your hair before coloring on the same day, because your hair has split ends, it’ll affect the quality of your hair color.
Do not moisturize too much using heavy conditioners or moisturizers or the pours of the hair shaft may not effectively absorb of the color.
Do not use any styling aids such as hair spray, mousse or gel nor leave-in conditioner of any kind at least a few days before applying a tint to
your hair.
Use a light shampoo and conditioner.
It is not recommended to frequently change the color of your hair, as it will damage your hair. It is always best to apply your original color.
If you have thick and abundant hair, be sure to buy at minimum two boxes of SANOTINT hair dye.
That which you do not dispense, from the tube and bottle, can be recapped and used within the next 6 months.
If you have lighter colored hair and you are applying a darker color, be sure that you uniformly comb through the color from your roots, all the way to the tips of your hair.
Damaged hair has a patchy structure that absorbs the color irregularly and can produce uneven color tones. For optimal results, It may be necessary to prepare your hair one week prior to hair coloring, by using a good hair treatment such as Sanotint shampoo for damaged hair and Sanotint Intensive Silk Masque. This is great for colored, damaged hair as it regenerates and reinforces the hair. The highly soothing properties of Passionflower, Yarrow, Helichrysum and Golden Millet extracts, improves the look and feel of the hair, leaving it soft, healthy and ready to accept color.
After each tinting session, it is important to use the SANOTINT Colour Care Conditioner with a pH of 3.5, as it has been specially formulated to close the pores of the hair, sealing in the color.
SANOTINT conditioners are enriched with nourishing substances such as Golden Millet, which will protect, nurture and renew your hair after the
coloring session, resulting in shiny, radiant, and incredibly soft hair.
In addition, it will help prevent breakage from brushing and split ends.
Please note that the SANOTINT Colour Care Conditioner is not gluten free. Those with Gluten allergies should not use it. This product is not
paraben free. You may substitute it with a deep conditioner that is all
natural if you choose.
