Product Tips: When speaking with company representatives, we wanted to gain more incite on how this product behaves. The LIGHT takes a little longer to cover gray, and is not as intense as the CLASSIC formula. For instance, if using the Natural Brown 73, black hair won't look black, but it will be more of a black brown. It will blend well with black hair.

Do you have sensitive skin? Allergies? We suggest to perform first a sensitivity test and to follow the instructions for use.

SANOTINT Light is completely free of ammonia, which is a known culprit in inhalation and odor concerns. SANOTINT makes a point of limiting the types and concentrations of chemicals in their SANOTINT line as much as possible.

Depending on the hue selected SANOTINT may also contain propylene glycol, EDTA, and Resorcinol. As always, SANOTINT tries to limit the concentrations of any of the chemicals that they do include in their products.

SANOTINT permanent coloring products do not lift color but deposit pigment, it will not help a dark haired brunette become a platinum blonde, and it just can't happen with such a mild hair dye such as SANOTINT. We want this information to be clear so there is no doubt on the part of the consumer.

SANOTINT Does offer a hair lightening kit, which is peroxide based and will lift from one to three shades lighter. Please note: consumers need to understand you can’t have it both ways. A coloring product that is as natural and mild as possible just won't have the lightening and coloring powers that the chemical based hair dyes do.

Please note that ingredients are not all natural. We do not advertise that this is an all natural and organic product:

Here are our Color Selections.  Please note that SanoTint have many additional shades and Natural Solutions can order any in for our customers.  Just call us!

Black 71

This is the darkest shade in the LIGHT collection. It is a black. It gives you great gray coverage.

Natural Brown 73

This is the darkest brown shade in the LIGHT collection. If you leave it on a few minutes longer, it will come out to a dark brown on some.

Light Brown 74

Feedback: I tried this shade over my hair. I am combination gray (25%) and dk brown. My brown hair seemed more brilliant, while the gray had a golden brown look.  Overall it was very nice. It looked like I had highlights in my hair. -owner, J Reed

Golden Chestnut 75

This shade has red tones.

Dark Golden Blonde 77

Natural Blonde 79

Dark Blonde 84

Extra Light Golden Blonde 87

Extra Light Blonde 88

Can I lighten my hair with another shade if I have applied a shade that is darker than what I intended? Unfortunately the only way to lighten a darker shade is to apply a lightener to the hair first, then reapply the shade that you would like that is lighter than the darker shade you first applied. So when making decisions on what shade to get, be sure that you consider how dark it may appear on your hair.

How can I avoid getting an orange hue to my hair? Many customers do not realize that if you first choose a shade that has red or yellow, when you reapply color to your hair next, you should take that undertone into consideration and choose a shade with a similar tone.  For instance, if you go with the number 75 (red base) and then the next time you color you apply number 77 (yellow base), you will not lighten the hair because the 75 is darker than 77, but you will change the tone of the hair because you added a yellow tone to the hair. Red + yellow = orange.  So be mindful when picking out your colors that you stay within the same color family if you are avoiding a specific tone.  And remember the advice above regarding dark shades - as you can not lighten the shade by choosing a lighter color.

3 of 5 Review of Sanotint light March 21, 2019
Reviewer: Jan Spinuzzi from Colorado
I have used rhis product for years, & have loved it. Because if allergies, the light is the only poiduct I can use.  Hiwwvee, many of the colors are not being offered, so I will have to try another hair coloring. I have sent e-mails, asking why colors are no longer offered, but have received no answes.

1 of 5 this is NOT PPD free December 16, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person
I'm allergic to PPD and bought this product as a "natural" alternative to dye my hair. Although in large letters on the front of the box it claims to be PPD free, if you read the tiny list of ingredients at the top of the the box it says at the bottom "contains phenylenediamine". This product did indeed cause a blistering allergic reaction. Please don't be fooled by the false marketing this company uses.

1 of 5 Still allergic. March 8, 2013
Reviewer: Cyni from Louisiana
I bought this hair dye because of it's allergy description. "Extremely low risk." I developed a sudden allergy to hair dye after getting a tattoo and several people suggested this brand. I did a skin test and still didn't get an allergic reaction. I experienced an allergic reaction only after I had washed all of the dye out of my hair and it began to dry. My skin test spot even flared up. Now I've got hives all over my head. They're not as bad as they were with regular hair dye, but they're still there. I'm not sure why it took so long. It would all have been alright, but my I bought the black dye and it only tinted my hair darker, not black.

5 of 5 Covers The Gray - RESPONSE January 29, 2011
Reviewer: Customer Service from Salem, OH
The customer with the review below was using Light Brown 74. You could reduce the time for processing to see if this would help it not get to dark.  Another option would be to suggest using the Dark Golden Blonde 77 or Natural Blonde 79. Possibly going with the 77 first would be our first recommendation since the 74 did cover the gray well. If 77 is to dark, then you could always move down to 79.  You can mix shades, but I'd start with what options are currently available.

4 of 5 Covers The Gray January 29, 2011
Reviewer: Jennifer C. from Lafayette, LA
I received my Sanotint on Friday.  I am very impressed with how well it covers the gray.  I previously used Joico hair color and I find that this product is much better.  I used the "Light Brown" color and I would like to go a little lighter.  I find it a little too black. Do you have a recommendation?  Even if it involves mixing two colors.  Please let me know as I would like to place another order this week.
