Fixative Emulsion - Professional Ammonia Free Developer
This ammonia free, gluten-free developer from SanoTint is worth ordering when you have stubborn gray hair. By ordering an extra fixative or developer as we term it here in the united states, a person can use it to pre-soften hard to color gray hair such as on the sides of the hair, hair around the ears, hair on top of the head by the crown. Since the SanoTint Permanent Do-At-Home Kits are designed with a fixative and hair color cream, used in equal parts, if you need more fixative or developer as we call it, we suggest purchasing an extra bottle to keep on hand for this specific use. This way you always have equal parts of your kit to use. What is pre-softening?
Pre-softening is the term we use to soften the hair cuticle so when color is applied it will accept more color into it. Ammonia is generally used to do this, but SanoTint is an ammonia free product line. So other methods can be used to accomplish the same thing. Pre-softening allows for more solid color/coverage in those hard to cover areas. You will apply the developer onto clean dry hair just in the areas you need help for about 5 to 10 minutes, then wipe off with a paper towel or cloth slightly where applied. Then follow thru with the normal color process that SanoTint has available. For more details, please see our page 'Tips on Covering Gray Hair
Another reason to purchase extra fixative is when you are blending colors to design your own shade. For instance, you may purchase a box of Natural Brown 73 and want to add a touch of black to it to bring it up a level. But maybe you only need to add half an ounce or even a quarter. Of course, you'll add that amount of both the color and fixative (developer), but at some point you may need extra developer if your measurements aren't quite right. So having the extra developer is a great tool for at-home coloring.
